- salt to season
- 6 cloves fresh garlic, peeled and cut in half
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, cut chiffonade
Equipment
- oven
- Baking Sheet
- Foil
- Knife
- Cutting Board
- Fork
Ingredients
- 1 loaf good crusty bread either Italian or French
- 1/2-1 cup fresh tomatoes chopped
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- salt to season
- 6 cloves fresh garlic peeled and cut in half
- 1/4 cup fresh basil cut chiffonade
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Slice the loaf of bread into 1/2 inch slices and place onto a baking sheet.
- Cut the tomatoes. Make a tent with some foil large enough to hold the tomatoes. Place the tomatoes in the foil and drizzle with some of the olive oil. Season with the salt. Place on the baking sheet with the bread.
- Bake for about 6-9 minutes. Make sure not to burn the bread.
- Remove from oven and rub the fresh (cut in half cloves) garlic onto the warm bread. I used a fork to help rub the garlic onto the bread. Top with the roasted tomatoes, basil and a drizzle of olive oil. Enjoy!
