Nasturtium, The beautiful, edible flower

It always brings me great joy when I go to the farmers market and come back with a new and beautiful find. Today I came across a beautiful flower, the Nasturtium, an edible flower.

This flower adds such great beauty to any meal. It’s full of color and adds a peppery punch that is similar to watercress. ¬†Nasturtium seeds are edible as well when they are young and green and have been likened to capers when pickled. They even offer their fare share of Vitamin C.

Today, I thought it would be a nice day to prepare a simple salad made with mixed greens, grape tomatoes, dried cranberries , a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, some grilled garlic bread and some beautiful flowers. How simple and elegant is that?
