Porgy with Vegetables

Porgy is a light, mild and meaty fish that is sure to please, especially the cost. Today when I went shopping I came across this whole fish and was so amazed at the cost, only $4.99 per pound!  So I took a chance and baked it in a 425 degree oven for 20 minutes with some tomatoes, parsley, salt, pepper, oregano, olives and potatoes, and drizzled some olive oil over everything. I have to say, it was delicious!  Very light, moist and didn’t have that fishy taste.

So next time you want to try a less expensive but tasty fish, try “Porgy”, you won’t be disappointed.

Here are some happy to know nutritional  facts about baked Porgy…this  fish contains  about 132 calories  6 grams of fat, less than 1 gram of carbohydrates  and 17 grams of protein per 3 ounces of serving. Not bad for this tasty fish.
