Fun Shaped Sconces

These are the most moist sconces I ever had! The heavy cream adds this richness that makes them  delicious. They are also fun to make with kids because you can be very creative by using different dried fruits,  colored sugar and special cookie cut outs for the occasion.

Fun Shaped Sconces:

Ingredients: Makes approximately 20 sconces

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit
  • 3/4 cup plus 4 tablespoons heavy cream

For the topping:

  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons colored sugar

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees

Line a cookie sheet with either parchment paper or another type of nonstick liner. In a large bowl mix the flour, powder, sugar, salt and heavy cream until no longer dry. Add the dried fruit and mix throughout.

Roll the dough 1/2 inch thick and cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place on cookie sheets about 2 inches apart.

In a small bowl mix the heavy cream and colored sugar. Evenly brush the cookies with the colored sugar using a  pastry brush. Place in preheated oven for about 10 minutes. Remove and allow to cook on a wire rack. Enjoy!
