This is a very quick and easy pasta meal to prepare that does not require all day cooking. It’s a little cheat-cheat on red sauce but still very tasty.
You may serve this with some Italian bread for dunking into the sauce or with a healthy green salad. Actually it’s also great by itself. Enjoy!
Ingredients: Serves 4
- 1 pound ground beef
- salt and pepper to season
- 1 teaspoon dry oregano
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves crushed garlic
- 1 32 ounce can of crushed tomatoes
- 6 leaves of fresh basil torn into small pieces
- linguine pasta for 4 servings
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Preparation:
Place a pot of water to boil for the pasta. Once it comes to a boil, add some salt to season and the pasta. Cook according to package directions. Drain.
Place the olive oil in a large skillet and when hot add the ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, oregano and add the crushed garlic. Cook over a medium low heat until no longer pink. About 10 minutes.
Carefully add the crushed tomatoes and mix it through. Add the basil. Bring to a low simmer for about 10 minutes.
In a large serving bowl add the pasta and cover with the meat sauce to coat the pasta with the sauce. You will want to carefully mix the sauce in through the pasta. Serve with the grated cheese.
